Tony's journey in the world of architecture began at North Carolina State University, where he pursued a bachelor’s degree in environmental design followed by an additional bachelor’s degree in architecture. Eager to gain practical experience, he embarked on internships at design build contractor John S. Clark and Winston-Salem architect J. Aubrey Kirby, honing his skills and deepening his understanding of the industry.

Driven by his ambition to contribute to the field of architecture in a meaningful way, Tony assumed the role of President at Design Inc. of North Carolina, Pilot Mountain, NC, the design company of John S. Clark, created with Tony as President from its conception. During his tenure, he led numerous successful projects, earning a reputation for his innovative thinking and meticulous attention to detail and an ability to meet construction budget.

Continuing his professional journey, Tony joined Brite Engineering Consultants Inc. as an architect and consultant, further expanding his knowledge and expertise. However, in November 2020, Tony made the bold decision to establish his own firm, and thus, North State Design Group was born in his hometown of Mount Airy, NC.

As the owner and managing director of North State Design Group, Tony brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the intricacies of architectural design and construction. His extensive knowledge, gained through years of hands-on involvement in the industry, sets him apart as a leader in the field.
